Dr. Shana Thomas
Dr. Shana Thomas has worked at Saum Chiropractic since 2006. She was raised in New Mexico until her family relocated to Louisiana where she graduated from high school.
Dr. Thomas attended Southeastern Louisiana University where she studied microbiology and nutrition. In 2005, she received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Sherman College in South Carolina. She is Advanced Proficiency Rated in the Activator Method since 2003.
Before joining Saum Chiropractic Clinic, Dr. Thomas worked for Activator Methods Headquarters where she served as College Coordinator and assisted in the development of the company’s seminar curriculum.
She briefly returned to work in the New Orleans area before Katrina. However, she was forced to evacuate. Both the practice she formerly worked at, and her home was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
Dr. Thomas has now called Columbus home for the past 13 years. During this time, she has worked under Dr. Saum, the original owner of Saum Chiropractic. After Dr. Saum’s retirement, Dr. Thomas purchased the office and became the owner and head chiropractor.
Since moving to Columbus, Dr. Thomas has become very active in the community. She has served as Board President & Vice President of the Link’d Young Professionals, taught life enrichment courses at MUW and continuing education for dental hygienists.
She is also a 2011 graduate of Leadership Lowndes County through the Columbus Lowndes Development LINK and a former member of Rotary Club of Columbus. Dr. Thomas volunteers her time with multiple other charity and civic organizations.
Dr. Chris Roberts
Dr. Roberts is the newest member of the Saum Chiropractic Clinic having started April 2016. He is a native Alabamian born in Jasper, who graduated from Winfield High School in 2006. Not only was he a scholar but also a star athlete having been named Mr. Basketball.
He continued his education and basketball career at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama. While there he achieved a degree in exercise science with honors in 2010. He was a four year letterman in basketball for the Huntingdon Hawks. It was during his sophomore year he decided to go into health care. After careful consideration Dr. Roberts decided that chiropractic was the best way for people to achieve maximum wellness.
After college, Dr. Roberts attended Life University College of Chiropractic in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2014, he received his Doctor of Chiropractic. After graduating from Life University, Dr. Roberts continued his education receiving a diplomat degree in Addictionology and Compulsive Disorders. He moved to Columbus after working in Portland, Maine for over a year. Although Dr. Roberts is new to the area he looks forward to becoming involved in local community activities.
